Blessings on my head.

Blessed and worthy of praise be to God our Father, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms through Christ. During creation, God pronounced blessings to men. He gave them authority over all the earth; the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, dominion over every living thing. He was commanded to be fruitful and to multiply. Everything he needed was made available for him. (Ephesians 1:3)

Even when man sinned, God did not withdraw or change his word concerning the blessing. God went ahead and chose Abraham, His righteous servant and entered into a covenant with him; that would affect his generations.

As children of God and the descendants of Abraham; God has blessed us with heavenly blessings- rain from above, with water and streams from the earth and many descendants. We are distinguished through salvation by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Out of Christ’s fullness of grace and truth, we all have a share and are supplied with abundant blessings. John 1:16 For out of His fullness we have all received grace upon grace, spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing.

The blessing causes us to live an exceptional life that distinguishes us from those who are not in Christ. We operate in power, divine favor and miraculous grace. We do mighty things and produce fruits through the power of the Holy Spirit. God has blessed us so that we can become a source of blessing and bring joy to others, you are God’s channel of blessing to your family, work, friends and the community at large. If you operate in the blessing, toil and pain are eliminated in your life. Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil into it.

Blessings operational in our lives

  • Territorial blessing/Establishment.

This is the blessing that God pronounced upon man to have dominion. It was declared to Abraham to establish him and his descendants in the land of Canaan. There is a designated terrain that God has intended for each one of us to occupy in accordance to His word.

Genesis 12:5 Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possessions which they had acquired, and the people (servants) which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan.

  • Prosperity .

Deuteronomy 28:12 The Lord will open for you His good treasure house, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands; you will lend to many nations and you will not borrow.

Deuteronomy 28:8 The Lord will bless your barns and everything you do.

Genesis 30:30 For you had little before I came and it has increased and multiplied abundantly, and the Lord has favored you with blessings wherever I turned.

Because of the blessing, Jacob’s presence at Laban’s house was much recognized and wherever he turned there was multiplication. Everything Jacob touched turned to gold.

Genesis 30:43 So Jacob became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks; of sheep and goats, and female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.

  • Multiplication.

Hebrews 6:14 “…I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”

Genesis 28:14 Your descendants shall be as countless as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and the north to the south, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed through you and your descendants. This blessing was spoken to Abraham before he even had his firstborn, but through faith he lived to see his descendants.

  • Longevity.

The blessing of long life. Proverbs 3:1-2 “…Let your heart keep my commandments; for the length of days and years of life worth living. And tranquility and prosperity they will add to you. It is God’s desire for you to fulfill the number of your days.

How the Blessings are activated.

1. Through obedience

Paying attention to God’s voice, assenting to God’s instructions.

Deuteronomy 28;1-6 “If you listen obediently to the voice of God, your God, and heartily obey all his commandments that I command you today, God, your God will place you on high, high above all the nations of the world. All these blessings will come down on you and spread out beyond you because you have responded to the voice of God, your God: God’s blessing inside the city, God’s blessing in the county; God’s blessing on your children , the crops of your land, the young of your livestock, the calves of your herds, the lambs of your flocks. God’s blessing on your basket and bread bowl; God’s blessing in your coming in and God’s blessing in your going out.

2. Worship

Reverencing God alone.

Leviticus 26:1 ‘ You shall not make idols for yourselves, nor shall you erect an image, a sacred pillar or an obelisk, nor shall you place any figured stone in your land so that you may bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God. “Observe my Sabbaths and reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and trees their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat the food you want and live in safety in your land.

3. Giving

There are blessings connected through your tithes and offerings and through your gifting and talents.

Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ” If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until there is no more room to receive it.

Matthew 25:29 “For to everyone who has and values his blessings and gifts from God, more will be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God, even what he does have will be taken away.

4. Honoring Parents.

Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord and will bring you God’s promised blessings.

What withholds God’s blessings ?

– Wickedness

Jeremiah 5:25 ‘Your wickedness has turned these blessings away, And your sins have withheld good harvests from you. Engaging in things which do not glorify God withholds the blessing.

-Dishonoring God’s name.

Malachi 2:2 “If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to honor My name,” says the Lord of hosts, ” then I will send the curse upon you and curse your blessings.

Every believer needs to rise out of every defeating situation and proclaim Christ’s blessings in their lives. These blessings were given to us so that we can live a victorious life. Start declaring them into your life, hold fast to them and watch God transform your life for His glory.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace; every favor and earthly blessing come in abundance to you, so that you may always have complete sufficiency in everything, and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.
