Part A.
Grace is the unlimited favor of God. This is displayed by his mercy towards us and his unconditional love. Grace pours out the love of God in us.
What grace does in our lives.
- Justifies us.
- We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But through the redemption that came in Jesus Christ, we have been justified freely by his grace. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.
- Therefore we have obtained the righteousness that comes from God through faith in Christ Jesus. If we believe in Christ Jesus then we have been justified.
- It makes us children of God.
- The grace of God takes away our previous nature and makes us Christ-like. It makes us godly. Children of light. Producing the attributes of goodness, righteousness, and truth. Children of God are led by the Spirit of God. This means we are not our own but children of promise endeavoring to accomplish God’s purpose on earth.
- It gives us a new Life.
- Through the grace of God, the Spirit of God has set us free from sin. When we live according to the Spirit our minds are set on what the Spirit desires and not on the natural desires. By accepting God’s grace the sinful nature dies and we become alive in the Spirit.
- The life we live in the body, it is by faith in the Son of God, through his unlimited grace. Therefore we produce the fruits of the Spirit of God which are; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.
- It transforms us.
- Grace comes to transform us from our sins to Christ’s righteousness. Paul who was initially Saul was transformed through the grace of God by Christ Jesus. His previous way of life in Judaism was persecuting the church of God and trying to destroy it. He was extremely zealous in his Judaism ways advancing even beyond jews of his age. He was also violent.
- When the call of God came upon him, God showed him mercy and by his grace changed him into a new man. The faith and love of Christ Jesus were poured out to him. He began to preach the gospel among the gentiles. He preached in many places including Arabia, Damascus, Syria, Cilicia among many others.
- The grace of God changes us from within. This grace transformed Paul from being a blasphemer, persecutor, and a violent man to an apostle. It can take away our bitterness, rage, malice, greed, and the things we struggle with which do not glorify God and change us into a new man.
- Paul acted in ignorance and unbelief but grace transformed him. Do not think you have gone too far to tap into this grace.
- It strengthens us.
- The grace of God fuels us for His service. It renews our strength for evangelizing, teaching, prophesying, healing, visiting the less privileged among others. It strengthens us to present ourselves to God as approved workmen, who handles the word of truth.
Some have tried accomplishing things by themselves but end up being burnt out. This is what happens when we depend on ourselves. Pushing God’s agenda by own strength. The bible says, even the youths grow tired and get weary. That is why many stumble and fall. But if we trust in the grace of God, he renews our strength and causes us to soar on eagles wings.
Great examples of the amazing grace of God is vividly displayed in the ministry of the apostles. For instance, Apostle Paul endured many persecutions in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra but the grace of God strengthened him to excel in his calling and to even raise great ministers and churches. Mark you, God’s didn’t say his work would be easy but he promised us that His grace is always sufficient for us. - Apostle Peter also operated by this divine grace allowing him to perform outstanding miracles such that, even only his shadow healed the sick and those tormented by evil spirits wherever he went.
This grace makes us avoid godless chatter that leads to wandering from the ways of truth.
No matter the task ahead, His grace is sufficient for us. - It makes us excel.
- The grace of God makes the believer succeed in everything. Since the believer does not depend on themselves, but on God’s abundant grace, they excel in faith, knowledge, wisdom, in giving also in love. This grace allows God’s children to excel in their gifting just like Peter, Paul, Stephen, Titus and other apostles did. They were full of God’s grace and power hence performed great miracles and wonders, bringing glory to God.
- This shows us that we can get to greater heights in our careers, ministries, businesses, many but a few if we channel to this grace. It equips us to do God’s will and to abound in good works. We therefore, ought to grow in this grace. When we utilize our gifts, we are administering it. This grace has given us everything we need for life and godliness.
God’s grace is displayed through the unlimited patience of Christ Jesus to us. So that those who believe in him will receive eternal
