To trust is to believe or have confidence. Some people believe in other people, others in things. They believe that the more they accumulate the better their lives get. As human beings we tend to trust in other people. But sometimes these people are not a hundred percent perfect. Even the things that we put our trust in are perishable. People have their own limitations. However, God doesn’t have any limitations. He is perfect in all His ways. You can put your trust in Him.
There are many promises that God has guaranteed us. These promises require a walk of faith. Walking by faith isn’t the easiest thing to do when you are in this place. Standing on promise and waiting for it to pass is not easy but the wait is worthy. It is good to keep an expectant heart. Believing in what God says He will do. Placing your confidence in Him. But what do we do to keep the faith?
The issues of the world may cause us to waiver in faith. However, the word of God says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So in the place of trusting what have you been listening to? Remember listening to the wrong things causes our faith to depart. When our faith departs then we do not believe again. How do we see a promise except by faith!
Jesus had come from Jerusalem when He departed to the region of Sidon and Tyre when a Canaanite woman met Him. Her daughter was possessed by a demon and she pleaded with Jesus in order to heal her. Though Jesus was at the moment ministering to the Israelites; the Jews, her faith moved Him to heal the child and she was completely delivered of the evil spirit.
Matt.15.28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (NKJV)
Let your faith be like this Canaanite woman who did not allow disbelief to make her doubt Jesus power to heal. When your faith is solid you create ground for God to fulfill His promises in your life.
From the Bible we get to see many people who kept their faith no matter where they were in life. Abraham waited hopefully for almost thirteen years after God gave Him a promise to have his own son which came to pass. Daniel found out the time that God had apportioned for the Israelites to live at Babylon had come to an end and prayed for the promise of deliverance and God set them free. Jesus promised His disciples resurrection after three days and three days, He came back to them as promised. God promised Gideon that He would use him to deliver the Israelites from the oppression of the Midianites and He fulfilled His promise.
Our confidence in God is what makes us witness His promises in our lives. Our faith has to remain intact as we keep trusting Him.
Our confession.
After receiving the promise what has been your confession? Are the words coming out of your mouth consenting the promise or are they nullifying the promise?
As a believer it is so important to check the words that come out from our lips so that we do not abort the promises of God by our very own lips. God has dispatched His ministering angels to be of service to us. Hence, it is very critical what we say so that they pick it up and deliver back to God to perform our deeds. For the Bible says we shall not say that it was an error to the angel that which came out of our mouths. Let us be positive always.
Matt.15.11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.” (NKJV)
Right fellowships.
The people we surround ourselves with when we are in the place of trusting and waiting on God for the fulfillment of promise is so vital. Do our friends spark out our beliefs or do they put off the flame of God in us? Many people have missed out on important things that God said He’ll do in their lives because of wrong company. Friends who mislead them from the will of God, friends who pushed them out of their purpose. Please note the kind of friends you hang out with; do they draw you closer to the purposes of God for your life or does what they do push you further and further away from God? Engage in the right fellowships.
Pray the promise.
The Bible says, the prayer of a righteous man availeth much. The prayer of a man or woman with a right standing with God prevails. If we pray the will of God concerning our lives then we win! If we realize the promises of God in our lives then this guides us in our prayers. This enables us not to waste much time in prayer with our requests scattered all over; praying this now, then something else pops up in our minds and our petitions are spread all over because we do not know the will of God concerning His purpose in the matter. For us to see fruitful prayers we have to be in line with the purposes of God. We have to keep at it until we see the promises fulfilled.
If we trust God then we have to show Him that we can walk with Him by following the above measures. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Let’s rekindle our faith again by God’s word. In Him the promises are -Yes. He is faithful to do even more than we can imagine.
